Zadowoleni Ecundianie pozwolili przejsc reszcie stada. Wszyscy zajeli sie sparalizowanymi bunda, ktore tworzyly jakby zywy koral. Cieli je kleszczami z ostrymi zebami, polykali razem z koscmi, pochwyciwszy w usta, ktore otwieraly sie na wszystkie cztery strony. Changowie nie mogli dojrzec zadnych odruchow zucia. Albo Ecundianie trawili cale cwierci, albo zeby znajdowaly sie u nich za przelykiem.
-O rety - westchnal Joshi bez entuzjazmu, gdy Ecundianie odmaszerowali ze swoim dziennym lupem. - Wolalbym raczej pogadac sobie z nimi, niz sie z nimi sprzeczac.
-Na niewiele by sie to zdalo - posepnie odpowiedziala Mavra. - Ci madrale ze statku mowili, ze Ecundianie sa bardzo nieprzyjemni dla obcych, ktorych nie zapraszali. Zjadaja ich lub po prostu paralizuja i odsylaja do domu dla nauczki. Nie, nie, Ecundianie nie podadza nam reki, wierz mi.
